Chapter News:- The April meeting drew 23 to learn "How to Stay Sane in a Crazy Market" presented by Marc Wooten of Atlantic Financial Planning Group. May meeting speakers were Richard Williams and Nacho LaPuente with Alpha Power Systems, who provided information to the 27 attendees on changes to the UL 1449 3rd edition to be dated 9/29/09. The changes have been substantial enough to eliminate some familiar vendors with TVSS products from the market. The standard also addresses installation methods and materials, equipment ratings, and component reliability.
- The June meeting topic was "Arc Flash"(NFPA)" with Ben Byrd of Certified Insulated Products, who spoke to the 39 attendees about safety tools and products including FR clothing for all hazard risk categories. The 28 teams who played in the 13th Annual Golf Tournament in May enjoyed the food, weather and the door prizes and appreciated the 41 hole sponsors.
